Bushwakker Brewpub Releasing XXX Barleywine for 30th Anniversary
REGINA, SK – Bushwakker Brewpub has announced that it will be marking an important milestone with the release of its “biggest, richest, strongest and most complex beer ever!”
XXX Barleywine (12.6% abv) has been brewed in honour of the brewpub’s 30th anniversary, and is described as follows:
This limited edition commemorative American-style Barleywine is exploding with intense caramel and toffee malt flavours. Yet these sweeter flavours are tamed by the large addition of assertive bittering hops which bring balance and dryness to the incredibly rich brew. The ale was aged for almost two and half years which helped facilitate the wonderful marriage of the many flavour components. The considerable alcohol content is well hidden due in part to the lengthy aging time and is perceived as being pleasant and warming.
XXX Barleywine will be released this Saturday January 23rd at 11:00 AM at Bushwakker. 300 wax-dipped bottles have been produced, with a label designed by local artist Gavin de Lint featuring an illustration of Bushwakker’s late founder, Dr. Bev Robertson, and it will also be available on tap while supplies last.
Everyone who visits on the day will receive a free slice of chocolate birthday cake, and the food menu that evening will include a special dinner of local bison tenderloin topped with a sauce made with the anniversary beer.
