Burdock Brewery and Forno Cultura Release Beer Mosto Black Bread Stout
TORONTO, ON – Burdock Brewery has announced the release of a new collaboration with local Italian bakery Forno Cultura.
Beer Mosto Black Bread Stout (5.5% abv) is described as follows:
It’s that time of year again where we brew one thing that isn’t pale and made exclusively with pilsner malt! For this collaborative stout we tossed over 50 kg of stale black bread from our friends at Forno Cultura into the mashtun. These old loaves of choice contain an ingredient that’s near and dear to our hearts: Mosto (aka grape must, aka pommace, aka dried grape skins that have been blitzed-up into a powder to use in baking). In addition to the black bread loaves, we dropped a few pounds of cacao husks (courtesy of Chocosol) into the mash for a bit of bonus chocolate energy that we like to see in our once-a-year stout. The result is a smooth & creamy, toasty, and cacao-ee brew. Guaranteed to do the trick and warm your heart as Toronto congeals into an icy paradise.
Beer Mosto is available now at the Burdock retail store and online shop, and at Forno Cultura.
