2 Crows Brewing Releases Birds of a Feather Belgian-Style Sour Series
HALIFAX, NS – 2 Crows Brewing has announced the release of a trio of limited edition barrel-aged beers inspired by the classic dark sour ales of Belgium.
Birds of a Feather: Cherry (6.3% abv):
This beer is essentially part cherry wine and part beer, but we’re calling it a Flanders-style red with Nova Scotia cherries. Massive rounded cherry flavour, a touch of marzipan, smooth, tart and complex. Slightly tannic, firm minerality, and a touch of balsamic.
Birds of a Feather: Marquette (6.3% abv):
This beer is a Flanders-style red with Marquette Pomace. Massive red wine notes of blackcurrant, cherry, leather, and tobacco. If you were to taste this blind, you’d be hard pressed to guess it is actually a beer.
Birds of a Feather: Bruin (6.3% abv):
This beer is pure class. Our first ever Oud Bruin, and we are super happy with how it turned out. Smooth, slightly roasty, with notes of coconut, a touch of balsamic, cherries, and blackcurrant.
All three beers are available now the 2 Crows retail shop and online store. For more details including full brewing notes for each beer, see the 2 Crows pages on Instagram and Facebook.
