One event on July 19, 2019 at 8:00 pm
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Valley Mountain is a duo comprised of Julia Bobiak and Rory Mayhew.
The duo is setting out to bring much needed representation to female fronted acts in, around and
between Ottawa and Hamilton, Ontario. The genres they cover range from country and rock to pop and
Julia, an alumni of the internationally award winning Hamilton Children’s Choir, has experience
performing on stages for large audiences all over the world including tours to Sweden and China. Julia
has also been involved with community theatre in both Hamilton (Theatre Ancaster, Theatre Aquarius)
and Ottawa (Sock n Buskin). With incredible range, excellent tone and a precise sense of pitch, Julia is
a true professional.
Rory is a multi-instrumental musician, playing bass and lead guitar for touring and local bands
throughout the late 2000’s. He has begun establishing himself as a highly capable sideman with bands
such as: We Were Sharks (Victory Records touring band), Sandi Skye (Ottawa area country artist),
Vicki Brittle (2018 Bluesfest Performer, Ottawa Area folk-country act), Eastbound of Bytown (Ottawa
area Country/rock band) and more. His experience playing the Ottawa bar scene has helped continue
to develop his musicianship.
Capable of playing as an acoustic act, the duo also has an impressive roster of musicians to round out
their full band (depending on gig/venue demographic) including:
