Shawn Tavenier at Ridge Rock’s Premier Guest Artist Series

Join us on next Sunday for Ridge Rock’s debut of the Guest Artist Series hosted by Jillian Kerr.
The Guest Artist Series will run every third Sunday of every month.

We are excited to announce that SHAWN TAVENIER, an extremely talented singer-songwriter, musician and performer, will kick off the series and be our very first Artist!

Shawn Tavenier is an entertainer who is truly at home on the stage. Based in Ottawa this charismatic singer/songwriter and front man for roots rock powerhouse Silver Creek is known for his strong presence, powerful voice and his ability to grab an audience. As a songwriter Tavenier is not afraid to embrace his love of the written word and poetry and blend it with unique but still classic melodies. With Silver Creek on a festival stage or solo in a café, as an entertainer he makes it his goal to reach listeners on a personal level and has done so over the years across Canada and alongside the likes of Blue Rodeo, Tom Cochrane, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many more!

Jillian Kerr is a singer-songwriter born and raised on the outskirts of Ottawa. Her folky songs can make your heart swell, eyes well, feet tap and your hips sway. Recently having completed a Bachelor of Music Honours degree at Carleton University, Jillian has been mentored by notable folk artists such as Ian Tamblyn, Jill Zmud and James Keelaghan. Jillian Kerr is the MusikOttawa industry Showcase Singer- Songwriter winner of 2015 and was invited to perform at Ottawa’s MEGAPHONO and at the Folk Music Ontario Conference for the past two years. Additionally Jillian has performed at various festivals including The Grassroots Festival, RBC Bluesfest and Ottawa Cityfolk and Marvest festivals. Jillian released her EP Dreams last fall and she released her second EP titled Downtown on June 24th 2017 at The Cross on Elgin. Her latest release How to Be Awesome, is an album for kids of all ages written in collaboration with 4 other artist educators including Juno-nominee Gary Rasberry. The album shares the message of love, inclusion, and getting outside to enjoy natures beauty.
